ABOUT

Justine Kaneda is an interdisciplinary filmmaker and performing artist based in New York City. As a Japanese American, Justine strives to represent her culture and heritage through a genuine lens. Her work mainly engages with concepts of family dynamics, intergenerational experiences, and identity. As an artist, she hopes to shed light on the beautiful diversity of human beings that exist in our world.

Justine received her B.A. from Stanford University (studying Human Biology and Theater & Performance Studies) graduating with an Honors in the Arts and University Distinction. She then studied for a year at Waseda University in Tokyo, Japan in a post-graduate Japanese language and culture program. Justine then received her M.A. from New York University's Gallatin School of Individualized Study concentrating in Film Production and Media Studies.
